Charlotte is an experienced clinical psychologist with a special interest in depression, anxiety, eating disorders and weight loss problems, palliative care, bereavement and grief reactions, stress and PTSD disorders.
She has been a chartered clinical psychologist for many years and has worked as a clinician both in the NHS and in private practice, as an academic (Department of Psychiatry, University of Dundee), and as a researcher (Medical Research Council, Speech and Communications Unit),
Charlotte also has “real” life experience - She has spent time outside the psychology ivory tower working in the high pressured IT arena. She has provided consultancy services to banks, finance houses, government departments and the NHS.
There is one strong theme that runs through her approach to her practice of clinical psychology: She is focused on helping clients reduce their distress and enhance their enjoyment of life. Charlotte is trained in and uses methods and techniques that have been scientifically proven to be clinically effective. These include CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), behaviour modification, behaviour activation, positive psychology, solution focused brief therapy, exposure, de-sensitisation, mindfulness, relaxation and MCBT (mindful cognitive behaviour therapy).
Charlotte is registered with the HCPC (Registration No PLY31900) and she is a chartered clinical psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the BPS (Membership No.339105).
